Joining me tonight for another great ride on the ridge was, Matt Ballard, Todd, and Ed, (the Huck) Hofmiester. Ed had a problem with his lights in the parking lot and Matt was able to give him a spare set to get him going.

We headed out on the normal single track, which is riding great and then from there we headed over to crystal caves and up the hill. The hill actually would be perfectly doable if it were not for about a 10 foot section of ice just before the last roots on the corner making it basically impossible to get over the ice. Once on top we rolled along over to the dirt road climb and then taking the first left to get us up the hill. Once we got to the road we waited for Ed as i was guessing that maybe he had left something beside the trail, but he had not so we were good to go up toward the tower. We only  go 1/2 up to the tower and then cut across the middle over to the cliff trail. It was at this point that Ed (the huck) decided to do his thing and left his mark beside the trail for the deer and coyotes to eat. I had to move on ahead so that i did not hear him or i might do the same. Ed is always good to go after that and on we went up the cliff trail. This trail is riding superb and is a blast to ride, on the hard fast frozen tundra. We made our way back out to the road and then down the fridge trail. At the bottom we took a vote and decided to go down aways and ride the single track back in the opposite direction. The road down to there was a little more icy and muddy than anticipated and the muc caught my front wheel and launched me for just a short distance,  which kind of took me by surprise, as it usually does. Oh well back on and forged our way over to the single track and back. What a great ride. Hope to see more of you out for Thursday ride as it sounds like more snow on Saturday that may kill the riding again for a while.
